My many, many years as a professional figure skater taught me how to pick myself up each and every time I fall. Decades ago, Journalism opened the door for me to uphold and cherish the challenge, and responsibility, of helping melt frozen hearts in a world too often crusted in ice. The journey of all my yesterdays is meaningless without their seeds of hope being rooted in both mine and others’ tomorrows. This is why I am now returning to my pencil – or, more accurately, the modern day computer keyboard.
